![]() Igdir based Organization for Fighting Against Baseless Armenian Allegations (ASIMDER) has started a signature collecting campaign against opening of borders with Armenia. Members of Igdir based Organization for Fighting Against Baseless Armenian Allegations (ASIMDER) has started a signature collecting campaign against opening of state border between Turkey and Armenia. The campaign will be continued for seven days and signatures will be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Chairman of the Organization Goksel Gulbey stated that Armenians want to establish relations and open the border with Turkey. Stressing that Armenian officials numerously stated that they will not withdraw from the occupied lands of Azerbaijan, Gulbey said, “In our opinion, Armenians are not sincere about their desire of normalizing their relations with Turkey. Armenian occupation damaged Azerbaijan in material and moral aspects. Armenians occupied 13,210 meter square Azerbaijani land. 20 thousand people were massacred during the occupation. One million Azerbaijani had to leave their homeland and those refugees live in coaches and tents since 17 years.” “ARMENIANS SHOULD WITHDRAW FROM OCCUPIED LANDS OF AZERBAIJAN” Gulbey stressed that Armenia should withdraw from occupied lands of Azerbaijan if it wants Turkey’s borders to be opened. Gulbey said, “Azerbaijani people assisted Turkish military during Turkey’s war of independence althoughsuch movecould have resulted in losing their own independence. When Azerbaijani Parliament accepted leaving the management to Soviets on April 28, 1920, one of the preconditions of Baku was for Russian army to assist Turkish army in Anatolia. This shows that Azerbaijani Turks wanted Turkey to be independent even if they should lose their independence for that. Now it is turn of Turkey to make a sacrifice. I am calling all Turkish people to attend this campaign.” |
