Armenian diaspora took action following the reports about suspension of a 13-year old Turkish student from a school in Nancy, France after insisting that there was no Armenian genocide. After this event reflected to the press, Armenian diaspora in France once again started to press for adoption of a resolution towards penalization of denial of so called Armenian genocide.

One of the most efficient media organs of Armenian diaspora, Armenews claimed that the event shows the urgency of passing a resolution that penalizes denial of so called Armenian genocide. In addition to this, Collective Van foundation recalled French Ministry of Education to active duty, stating that Turkish student approves so called Armenian genocide in an unbelievable and inappropriate way. Le Collective Van stated that school managements should not be left alone on such issues.

It is reported that father of Mustafa, Mehmet Dogan will today meet schoolmaster Franchis Vignola to discuss the issue. It will be clear if school administration insists on preparation of a homework that acknowledges so called Armenian genocide. Mustafa was penalized of preparing a homework that acknowledges so called Armenian genocide after he wrote “Even if it did happen, they deserved it” in history exam.

On the other hand, an author from a Turkish organization in France, COJEP International, Veysel Filiz said, “Denial of so called Armenian genocide is not illegal in France. That resolution is not passed. And Mustafa is not mature enough to express his opinion about this issue.”
