Azerbaijan builds its international relations on equal and mutually profitable ground and the western states, including the United States, are no exception. There is no duality in Azerbaijan’s position, we support a consistent dialogue, mutually profitable cooperation and non-interference with each other’s domestic affairs.

According to Oxu.Az, the statement came from deputy chief of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Novruz Mammadov speaking in an interview with Russian

He said Azerbaijan does not always understand the position of separate countries and the obvious policy of double standards.

“Azerbaijan often becomes an object of a groundless criticism of some western politicians who cannot accept the independent position of our country.

ther critics who serve the interests of the Armenian diaspora in these countries try to demonize Azerbaijan and justify the armed aggression and occupation of 20% of Azerbaijani lands. Along with this, the violated rights of over a million of refugees and IDPs remain ignored. The separatist regime of Nagorno Karabakh get a direct financial aid of the United States, while in the similar situations in other regions of the continent the United States conducts a policy of sanctions and prohibit their financial structures to act in the indicated areas”.

According to him, Azerbaijan has recommended itself as a responsible partner by implementing major energy and logistic projects:

“Azerbaijan initiates and implements such regional projects as Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad. This is the first regional project since the moment of restoring independence in 1991 financed without participation of transnational financial corporations”.

Novruz Mammadov also said that the energy projects of Russia and Azerbaijan are complementary:

“European market needs energy sources and this market is especially solvent and regulated on a legislative base. Azerbaijan has implemented and will continue to implement energy projects, guided solely by economic grounds”.
Speaking about the Azerbaijani-Russian relations, N.Mammadov said that they are comprehensive and based on relations between their leaders Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Putin.

"In 2014, we observed dynamics in deepening political dialogue, implementation of the economic component, humanitarian projects, expansion of military-technical cooperation. For us Russia is a strategic partner, and we appreciate our relationship”, he said.

The question of possible accession of the Republic to the Eurasian Economic Union was discussed more than once, but it led to nothing: Baku has no plans to enter into the union because of Armenia. But do you see any formats of expanding cooperation with EAEC?

Speaking of the possible accession of Azerbaijan to the Eurasian Economic Union, Mammadov said that Baku is closely monitoring the integration processes in Eurasia.

"Although we are a small country,  the location of Azerbaijan at the crossroads of continents makes us participants in many logistics projects. The economic potential of Azerbaijan dictates the conditions for cooperation and bilateral format is optimal for today. Belarus - we have established successful and mutually beneficial relations with members of EAEC - Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus. We have a decent turnover and a large potential to increase in the future with each of them
The position of President of Azerbaijan about Armenia’s accession to EAEC was announced by the president of Kazakhstan who said Yerevan may enter into any alliances, but exclusively within the internationally recognized borders”.
