Head of the Holland-Azerbaijan Turkish Culture Association, well-known diaspora activist Ilhan Ashkin has told the statement to Gun.Az while commenting on some news about violation of rights of national minorities living in Azerbaijan. "The successful policy carried out in recent years to protect rights of national minorities in Azerbaijan is fortifying the national unity and plays an exceptional role in the protection of statehood. Naturally, is ails some forces and, therefore, these forces are trying to use national minorities for their own interests. But they wrong themselves and this policy is not apt for Azerbaijan. This is because there is a strong and unbreakable unity in Azerbaijan." Ashkin noted that throughout the history, Azerbaijani Turks were subjected to big persecutions and national discrimination by Armenian nationalists. "In fact, it was Azerbaijani Turks who were subjected to big persecutions and national discrimination by Armenian nationalists throughout the history. And today as a result of this, Nagorno-Karabakh is under occupation, and the aggression continues," Ashkin said. |
