Armenian President ‘May Be’ Banned US Entry

E-mail Print PDF

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan may be banned from entering the United States of America, the presenter of Varaguyr (Curtain) TV show, broadcast in Los Angeles, told Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper. The presenter said the Armenian community in Los Angeles has kicked off a signature-collecting campaign to prevent Sargsyan’s entering the United States. According to the presenter, the document with the collected signatures will be handed over to the US Department of State and other governmental institutions.

The Armenian leader is planning to host a lavish dinner in Los Angeles to mark the 20th anniversary of Armenia`s independence. The Armenian community in the United States link Armenia`s difficult socio-economic situation to Sargsyan`s policy.

Recently the Armenian leader publicly admitted his being involved in a massacre of innocent Azerbaijanis in Khojaly in an interview with British journalist Thomas de Waal. The fact may be a basis for the Armenian president to be banned from entering the United States.
