Armenian parliament must repeal Armenian-Turkish protocols, Armenian MP says.

Armenian Parliament must remove Armenian-Turkish protocols from the agenda at the first session – this is an urgent issue and even a belated step, said Chairman of Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs, MP from ARFD party Hrayr Karapetyan.

According to him, Armenian government must take urgent steps to call off its signature from the protocols and lay all responsibility on Turkey.

“Armenia should have withdrawn its signature long ago, particularly when Turkish side announced that it considers Karabakh conflict as a precondition for normalizing diplomatic relations between two states. This might have been very serious ground for Armenia to recognize the signature as invalid,” said the MP.

Grand National Assembly of Turkey recently withdrew Armenia-Turkey Protocols signed on October 2009 between Armenia and Turkey.
