UN plays an important role in resolving international conflicts.

The UN Security Council is the only international organization, whose decisions and resolutions are binding for all members of the organization.

The statement has come from deputy executive secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party, MP Mubariz Gurbanly. He was speaking to the website of the ruling New Azerbaijan party.

"That is why the UN is not only the largest international organization in the world, but also bears political responsibility”, he said.
According to the functionary of the ruling party, Armenia violated all international obligations and agreements, when it occupied the territories of Azerbaijan.

"In this regard, the UN Security Council adopted four resolutions, according to which Armenia should unconditionally withdraw from the occupied Azerbaijani territory. However, all these resolutions have not been implemented by Armenia ", he said.
Gurbanli also said that Azerbaijan may again appeal to the UN Security Council.

"Our country can require the execution of these resolutions. Necessary steps should be taken for their implementation and sanctions should be taken against Armenia. Unfortunately, we do not see these actions by the UN Security Council.

The only reason is that among the five permanent UN Security Council members, there are countries who support Armenia and its occupation policy. At the root of all these policies stand the geopolitical goals related to our region ", he said.
The politician stressed that Azerbaijan has a number of advantages in its diplomacy.

In his view, the inclusion of the occupied territories of Azerbaijan onto the agenda of the UN’s 66-th session is a great success.
"This fact proves that Azerbaijan continues to show up occupation and the aggressive nature of Armenia and attains equitable solutions in all international structure. Our country continues its consistent diplomacy.

It is no accident that the Armenian propaganda machine cannot resist it”, Gurbanly said.
