On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Armenia's independence, the Cultural Association Nor Serount (New Generation), in collaboration with Armenian-American organizations, is organizing the Armenian the annual Armenian Independence Day festival in Glendale.
The event scheduled for September 18 has drawn over 10,000 attendees from all throughout the greater Los Angeles County region.
According to a press release by the Association, there will be variety of activities for all age groups to enjoy including live music, dance performances, carnival games, an assortment of Armenian ethnic cuisine, and an educational display of Armenian history and artifacts.
Past guests have included a long list of elected officials and community leaders including Rep Adam Schiff (D-Burbank), Assemblyman Mike Gatto, and Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Krekorian.
The festivities will begin at 12 noon and will continue until 7pm. The event is free and open to the public.
