E-mail Print PDF

The Uruguay-based Komitas radio station reports that, during a conference on Armenia-Uruguay relations last week, the Senator Rafael Michelini proposed that the issue of an “Armenian Genocide” museum be included in the draft budget, Asbarez.com reported.

According to the Uruguayan senator, the museum may also be a research center. Website reports that the proposal will be put on the agenda of the Parliament's next sitting.

Speaking at the conference Uruguayan Foreign Minister Louis Almargo said that Uruguay is "looking into the issue [of Nagorno-Karabakh] in order to present an official government position on the matter."
