Armenian parliament speaker is ready to ask the president to withdraw to protocols.
Armenian-Turkish protocols can be withdrawn from the agenda only by the President Serzh Sargsyan, as it is his exclusive right, Armenian parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan said in response to the question by oppositional ARF Dashnaktsutyun MP Armen Rustamyan.
The latter asked whether it is better to withdraw the protocols from the agenda of the parliament after they were withdrawn from Turkish parliament agenda.
“Armenian president has the right to withdraw the protocols. The protocols have not been removed from the Turkish parliament. They were left out as new parliament was established. I believe that our president is well aware of political processes in Turkey,” Abrahamyan said and added that the President Sargsyan will adopt a better approach in case Turkish government does not offer to include the protocols in the agenda.
However, Armenian parliament speaker is ready to ask the president to withdraw to protocols, if coalition powers and all parliamentary fractions decide there is necessity to turn to the president.
