Elections in Nagorno Karabakh can be held only in line with Azerbaijani laws.
According to the website for the New Azerbaijan Party, the statement came from chief of the Azerbaijani community of Nagorno Karabakh Bayram Safarov.
“No legal elections are possible in Nagorno Karabakh now. Karabakh is an Azerbaijani territory and elections there are possible only in line with Azerbaijani laws.
Nagorno Karabakh is recognized by the international community as the territory of Azerbaijan and all countries recognize the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan”, Safarov said.
He noted that the separatism regime of Nagorno Karabakh is carrying out the next ‘election’ game under Armenian support.
“But the occupant country is already on the verge of disaster. Its economy is in a disastrous state and it is on the point of abyss. For this reason, it is unable to render support to Nagorno Karabakh separatists. Currently, there are almost no people in Nagorno Karabakh, most people left due to heavy living conditions, while the rest live beyond poverty.
Which elections can be held in these conditions? The people of Nagorno Karabakh will be able to live well only within Azerbaijan. The world community will recognize only the elections in Nagorno Karabakh which will be held in line with the laws of our country”, Safarov said.
