Turkish President, Azerbaijani Speaker Discuss Karabakh Conflict

Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament (Milli Majlis), Ogtay Asadov has met Turkish President Abdullah Gul in Istanbul.

The Turkish President expressed satisfaction with the high-level relationship between the two fraternal countries. Gul underlined the importance of reciprocal visits of Azerbaijani and Turkish high-ranking officials in development of bilateral ties. The Turkish President also stressed the necessity of expansion of inter-parliamentary ties.

Ogtay Asadov, in turn, delivered Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev`s greetings to Abdullah Gul. The Speaker praised the current level of ties between the legislative bodies of Azerbaijan and Turkey.

President Gul asked Asadov to extend his greetings to President Ilham Aliyev, as well.

The sides also exchanged views on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
