According to a responsible official of the Aghdam Ecological and Natural Resources Zabil Bagirov, Agdam forestry was controlled by Khankendi forest economy.

The forests in Agdam cover an area of 2256 hectares.

Of them, 710 belong to collective farms, 560 to cultural forests and 986 to state. The forests are mostly dominated by oak tree, hornbeam, pistachio, plane trees and other trees. Currently, a greater part of these forests are under occupation and most of them have been terminated. Bagirov also said that among those terminated there were 84 plane trees aging more than 400.
