There is no trend to revive Armenian-Turkish protocols, Director of Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan said at a press conference on Thursday.
Noting the complex societal attitudes to the issue of normalizing relations with Armenia, especially in the context of presidential elections, the political scientist said that the protocols are frozen. As for the return of protocols to the agenda of Turkish Parliament, Iskandaryan said this as a technical question.
“Turkish parliament has many questions having been on the agenda for several decades. Turkey has problems far more important than the protocols, however, keeping them on the agenda creates the visibility of continuation in the eyes of the international community,'” said the expert.
