Azerbaijan Builds Stone Wall To Protect Civilians From Armenian Snipers

E-mail Print PDF

A stone wall is under construction on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops in Karabakh to protect civilians from Armenian snipers.

The fence is over 3 meters in height. It is a forced measure which is undertaken by the Azerbaijani authorities due to constant firing by Armenian snipers of civilians in the frontline Azerbaijani villages and people’s death.

The wall construction started in Ortagervend village of Agdam where 8-year-old Fariz Badalov was killed seven months ago.

According to chairman of the Chiragly village municipality of Aghdam Gabil Abbasov, 700 meters of the wall have already been built.

“Stone building will ensure security of civilians and allow people to return home. This is a big problem since 24 out of 78 houses of the village are empty as they are under constant fire. If any protection appears, people will be able to live there”, Abbasov said.
