E-mail Print PDF

'The unresolved Nagorno-Karabakh conflict poses a serious danger for South Caucasus policy of Europe'.

The statement came from Elman Mustafazade, chairman of the Friends of Azerbaijan Society in Germany, author, while commenting on remarks by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev that “Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is the biggest threat for the region” in his interview with Al-Jazeera TV channel.

'The more resolution of the Karabakh conflict is protracted, the longer the policy of the European Union related to the region will be under danger. This is because Karabakh is uncontrolled area and there is a favorable condition for terrorists. This represents a great threat for political and economic interests of Europe,' Mustafazade noted.

European think tanks need to focus on the essence of the conflict, Mustafazade added.

'Thus we can raise awareness of Europe of the ongoing events in Karabakh and essence of the conflict. The diaspora organizations have great responsibility in this matter,' Mustafazade stated.
