“Status Quo On Nagorno Karabakh is Not Acceptable”

E-mail Print PDF

“The basic principles on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the issues raised by Azerbaijan at the Kazan meeting will be discussed during the co-chairs’ visit to Azerbaijan. The mediators will search ways for promoting and reviving the process”, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza said. He said US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s phone talks with Azerbaijani President, the Deputy Secretary’s visit to the region showed that US attached high-level attention to the conflict settlement and intended to revive the Minsk Group process. “Our position is that it needs to finalize the basic principles and to proceed to the large deal and agreement. The conflict shouldn’t be settled by the military way. The status quo is also not acceptable. It needs to accelerate the talks and to strengthen efforts”.

Bryza said Azerbaijan has a political will to work with the co-chairs in any format.
