When meeting youth, Medvedev shared his impressions from regular meetings with Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan.
Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev assured that Moscow will continue assisting in resolution of the Karabakh conflict but it is up to the parties to the conflict to seek agreement.
Meanwhile, the head of the Russian state notes that the Karabakh conflict is among few frozen conflicts in Europe which can be solved.
When meeting youth, Medvedev shared his impressions from regular meetings with Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan.
“The surrounding of both presidents are on good terms and they easily shift from Armenian to Azerbaijani and vice versa; this is a secret moment but the presidents are on not bad terms too-they communicate well when we sit at the table”, the Russian leader said, unveiling the political ‘secret’.
Nonetheless, he admits that there are real complications in the Karabakh conflict, including history, different understanding of legislative constructions and different set of interests.
“Russia will certainly assist to the resolution of the Karabakh conflict. This work is to continue”, the Russian president assured.
However, he said ‘the resolution of this complex but solvable problem depends on the good will of the two peoples and the two presidents if they listen more to each other, make concessions and find a compromise”.
