Minister Armen Yeritsyan said around 200 Armenian rescuers would depart to the disaster zone, were there such request.

The earthquake hit the southeastern province of Van on October 23, leaving hundreds of people dead and many others injured. The quake was followed by 700 aftershocks.

On Thursday, October 27, Armenia received through diplomatic channels the Turkish Government's official request for humanitarian assistance.
