“Armenia’s Position Over Bilateral Ties With Turkey Remains Same”

Armenia’s Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met Monday with newly-appointed US Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern.

According to government website, Sargsyan first congratulated him on his new appointment and wished fruitful work during his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

Sargsyan highly appreciated the current level of US-Armenia relations and expressed confidence that the newly-appointed ambassador will manage to bring his own contribution to further deepening and enhancement of relations.

John Heffern, in turn, thanked Sargsyan for the reception and passed US presidents and secretary of state’s gratitude for the humanitarian aid Armenia sent to Turkey after the devastating quake.

Upon Heffern’s request Sargsyan brief on the projects implemented with US’ assistance.

Sargsyan also spoke about Armenia’s foreign policy priorities and referred to the Armenia-Turkey reconciliation.

Tigran Sargsyan said that Armenia’s position over bilateral ties with Turkey remains the same.

Further, Armenia’s premier highlighted the importance of reforms conducted in the country and the government’s efforts to shape and enhance middle class.

He also spoke about the measures taken by the government to overcome the consequences of the economic-financial crisis.
