'UN Security Council Needs To Adopt Final Decision On Armenian Aggression'

E-mail Print PDF

Azerbaijan’s election as non-permanent member of the UN Security Council is a great diplomatic victory.

The statement came from head of the Azerbaijani community of Nagorno-Karabakh Bayram Safarov in his interview with website of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party.

Azerbaijan will benefit from this opportunity in an efficient way to resolve Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, he said.

Armenia is concerned over the accomplishments Azerbaijan has achieved in all areas. This factor plays a definite role in recent developments in the Armenian government, Safarov believes.

“Probably, some people in the Armenian authorities understand that this path will not benefit them. Hence, such a situation. Despite this, Azerbaijan makes achievements in diplomatic area constantly,” Safarov added.

'I believe the UN Security Council should finally think about implementation of the four resolutions it has adopted. Azerbaijan’s membership in this prestigious organization can encourage this process. Azerbaijan’s stance on resolution of the conflict is based on international law. If the UN Security Council really seeks to establish peace and security across the world, it should make a final decision on Armenian occupation against Azerbaijan.'
