Taking advantage of all influential people, including religious leaders, should be taken into account in trying to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Azerbaijani Parliamentary Vice Speaker Bahar Muradova believes.

If the goal is to be a peaceful settlement of the conflict, then Azerbaijan must also use these opportunities, she told journalists today.

"Undoubtedly, the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) Chairman Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade and other religious figures have authority in society, along with politicians. So we must take advantage of their ability to solve the Karabakh problem, which is a source of serious tension in the region," Mrs. Muradova said.

Yerevan will host a meeting of the Presidium of the CIS Inter-religious Council with the participation of the religious leaders of Russia and the South Caucasus countries in late November. It is expected that the meeting will also be attended by representatives of the OSCE Minsk Group countries.

The Armenian media cited Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II who said that Mr. Pashazade will visit Yerevan on Nov.29-30. A meeting is expected between religious leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia upon the initiative of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill in Yerevan.

Mr. Pashazade has not decided on a trip to Yerevan, a spokesman for the CMO Rahima Dadashova told Trend today.
