Iran, Armenia Stress Boosting Ties

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi stressed boosting mutual relations with Armenia in the meeting with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Tuesday evening in Yereven, ISNA reported.

As to the mutual visits particularly Sargsyan's visit to Iran which came last year, Salehi added, "Mutual visits and political talks already carried out have strengthened the ties."

He expressed hope implementing new mutual projects would deepen ties and said mutual trust would lead to the expansion of bilateral cooperation.

Salehi also expressed Iran's view on latest regional and international developments particularly on Middle Eastern, Arab and North African countries.

Sargsyan on his part expressed satisfaction on boosting mutual economic and trade relations regardless of the global economic downturn and said, "We are intensively waiting for Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit to the country."

He discussed details of mutual projects on energy, transportation, power transfer lines, oil products and hydropower dams and called on finalizing the projects.
