Armenia Spent $200 Thousand On Humanitarian Aid For Turkey

Armenia spent AMD 74 million (about $ 200 thousand) on the humanitarian aid for Turkey’s population that suffered from an earthquake.

According to the information on the government’s official website on November 17 the cabinet of ministers will confirm the allocation of that sum to the Ministry of Emergency Situations from the government’s reserve fund.

On October 23, 2011 an earthquake occurred on Turkey’s territory which caused destructions in Van, Ardahan and some other places. Number of deaths exceeded 600, more than 4000 were injured. There are several thousands homeless people. In order to eliminate the effects of the earthquake Turkey turned to the international community for humanitarian aid. As a humanitarian aid Armenia provided Turkey with tents, sleeping bags, blankets and bed linen.
