Ireland’s Foreign Minister, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Eamon Gilmore held a press conference for the journalists today.
Eamon Gilmore announced Ireland’s 3 main priorities during its OSCE Chairmanship, APA reported.
According to him, the first priority will be the settlement of conflicts in the OSCE area. Dublin will host the meeting of OSCE countries in April 2012. At the conference Ireland will share an experience that it obtained in the settlement of the conflict with the Northern Ireland. Ireland’s other two priorities will be good management and freedom of speech.
Asked the question on Ireland’s participation in the settlement process of Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Gilmore said that he had met with Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers within the 18th meeting of the OSCE Foreign Ministerial Council:
'I hope that we will be able to use our OSCE chairmanship in order to encourage the sides for negotiations and advance in the negotiations process. As an OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, I can say that we will be able to contribute to this issue taking into account my experience in the settlement of Northern Ireland conflict'.
