E-mail Print PDF

US Senator Robert P. Casey, a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, calls on Azerbaijan and Armenia to continue to work to resolve their differences in a peaceful manner.

On December 10th, the Senator sent a letter to the Azeri Diaspora members, assuring them to have their concerns in mind should legislation regarding US aids to Azerbaijan come before the Senate for consideration.

“The US has an interest in promoting stability throughout the South Caucasus, and supports democratic governance and human rights in Azerbaijan and its neighbors. To this end, Azerbaijan has received more than $752 million in US aid since its independence, and the US and Azerbaijan have held annual bilateral security talks since 1996. I have consistently supported assistance to Azerbaijan through the annual appropriations process”, noted the Senator.
