Karabakh Truth On the Pages of New York Times

E-mail Print PDF

Protest letter to preconceived article "The National Womb" on New York Times by Nasimi Agayev, adviser at Azerbaijani Embassy to US was published in the newspaper.

 The letter reads:

Nagorno-Karabakh is neither a “disputed region” nor a “republic,” but rather an integral and internationally recognized part of Azerbaijan under illegal occupation by neighboring Armenia. The illegal nature of the occupation and the expulsion of 750,000 citizens of Azerbaijan from the occupied territories, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent districts, are widely recognized, and have been condemned by, among others, the United Nations Security Council, APA reports.

As for the children born in the region, the best way to ensure their safe and prosperous future is to resolve the protracted Armenian-Azerbaijan conflict, and not to manipulate the region’s demography artificially based on one single ethnicity.
