E-mail Print PDF

There was no kind of relationship between Armenia and Turkey in 2011, the director of Caucasus Institute said.

“Armenian-Turkish relations being at standstill, it was however interesting to follow the developments around them,” Alexander Iskandaryan to a press conference in Yerevan.

The expert pointed out the efforts of civil societies towards establishment of a dialogue between the two countries, saying he is not particularly hopeful these could incite major shift in Armenian-Turkish relations.

“I believe Turkish leadership does not feel up to establishing relations with Armenia,” Iskandaryan said, adding that Turkey is now more concentrated on the situation in Middle East and Europe.
