E-mail Print PDF

“The draft law criminalizing denial of Armenian genocide will cost France dear”, Russia’s Kommersant newspaper said.

The newspaper said in response, Turkey would prepare the package of economic sanctions that could effect France significantly. “The sales turnover between the two countries is € 115 billion. The experts evaluate the volume of French investment in Turkey as € 6.5 billion. About one thousand French companies are operating in Turkey”.

Airbus Company can lose a passenger plane deal with Turkish Air Lines, which targets to renovate its fleet until 2023. French company Areva is also threatened by losing its chances to win € 15-billion tender for construction of nuclear power station in Snop, Turkey, the newspaper said.

Alongside with the economic sanctions, diplomatic ties between Ankara and Paris are also expected to weaken.
