Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan commented on the on the French National Assembly’s adoption of a draft law criminalizing the denial of made up “Armenian genocide”.
APA reports quoting “Haberturk” that in a press conference held in Ankara jointly with Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovich, Erdogan said that this decision was “unfairness and against the freedom of thought”.
According to him, the principles of free thought were trampled by French parliamentarians: “This decision is the unfairness against France. Now there is no free thought in France. I thank the French MPs who were against the adoption of the law”.
Underlining that Turkey was proud of its history, Erdogan said that the history wasn’t written in the parliaments, those who turned the history into the political instrument will not be forgiven by the history and people: “It is impossible to keep silence against this decision. At first, we recalled our ambassador in Paris, we refuse the meeting of economic-commercial commission, we freeze all bilateral political, economic and military relations, refuse to participate in the projects within the European Union”.
Besides, Erdogan said that France air companies would crave permission for every flight over Turkey, French military vessels wouldn’t be permitted to Turkish sea ports: “We will do our best for world to recognize the genocides committed by France in Africa”
