20 Years Pass Since Armenian Occupation Of Kerkijahan Settlement In Karabakh

20 years has passed since the occupied by Armenian separatists of the Nagorno Karabakh and Armenia the Kerkijahan settlement near Khankandi.

In this view, the office of the Azerbaijani community of Nagorno Karabakh held an event on Wednesday.

Kirkajahan was occupied by Armenians on 28 December 1991. Before that the residents of this settlement resisted pressure by Armenian separatists within four years.

34 of 1796 residents of the settlement including three women and two small children were killed as a result and over 150 people were injured. Before that the local residents resisted attacks of the enemy who outnumbered the whole population of the settlement by five times in December 1991.

Beginning from 1988, Kerkijahan has been regularly fired from the 366th motorized infantry division of the Soviet Army located nearly.
