E-mail Print PDF

“The Armenian government must be judged as a war criminal, France withdrawn from OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship”

Head of history department of the Literature Faculty of Giresun University, Professor Aygun Attar sent a letter to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon demanding the recognition of Armenia as a war criminal. Our compatriot also notes that after this decision France can not remain as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group.

Professor Aygun Attar says that the Azerbaijani scientists, art figures and businessmen living in Turkey are concerned over the bill passed by the French National Assembly criminalizing the denial of the so-called “Armenian genocide”. Aygun Attar says that with this step France has officially confirmed that it is Armenia’s partner.

“Armenian terrorists killed civilians in Khojaly in 1992, resolutions # 822, 853, 874 and 884 passed by the UN condemned the occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories. These resolutions must be fulfilled, the Armenian government judged as a war criminal, France withdrawn from OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship,” she said.

Protest action was organized by Professor Aygun Attar and Students’ Council of the Giresun University. About 500 participants marched towards Atapark. Aygun Attar said by this decision France infringed on Turkey’s right of self-defense.
“Turkey has been deprived of the right of self-defense. History can not be made by politics or blood,” she said.
