Member Of Jehovah’s Witnesses Community Arrested After Refusing To Do Military Service In Armenian-Occupied Azerbaijani Territories

The member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses community, who referring to his faith refused to do military service in the military units of the separatist regime in Nagorno Karabakh, was sentenced to 2 years in jail.

APA reports quoting Kavkazski Uzel agency that Esgeran court passed a judgment to arrest resident of Nagorno Karabakh Karen Arutunyan on December 30.

Arutunyan was drafted from Esgeran on November 28, 2011, but refused to do military service.

“Prosecutor’s office” of the separatist regime launched criminal proceedings and Arutunyan was arrested.

After the court passed the judgment, Arutunyan was taken to the jail in the town of Shusha.
