US Azerbaijanis have started an urgent action against ABC News new employee, ethnic Armenian Olivia Katrandjian who wrote an article in the ABN News travel section inviting US citizens to visit 7 offbeat places, Nagorno-Karabakh among them, APA’s correspondent was informed by the Diaspora members.
The author also talks about the recently-built Armenia Hotel in the “capital of Nagorno-Karabakh” and advise to go hiking through snow-topped mountains and fields of yellow and red flowers. “Feast on shish kebob and grilled vegetables. If you’re staying with a local, don’t be surprised if you’re offered homemade mulberry vodka with breakfast”.
According to the Azeri Diaspora members on January 10, ABC News removed the Nagorno-Karabakh section after they were advised Nagorno-Karabakh was a war zone and integral part of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia. So, now the article is called "6 Great Offbeat Places to Go in 2012".
However, Armenians who had been watching the article, have started a campaign of bashing ABC, pretty aggressive one: http://asbarez.com/100238/abc-news-removes-karabakh-from-its-travel-feature/
The Diaspora asks its supporters to go to the comments section and write 3-4 sentences indicating facts on Karabakh being an Azerbaijani territory, specifying the danger of visiting war zone Karabakh and saying that ABC was right to remove NK because it would have been responsible for lives of those visiting the NK, and pasting State Department warnings: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_978.html#safety
