“France Cannot Be Mediator If Denial of Armenian Allegations Is Criminalized”

E-mail Print PDF

Acceleration of process regarding criminalization of denial of the 'Armenian genocide' proves President Nicolas Sarkozy's interest in this law.

The statement came from head of the Atlas Research Center Elkhan Shahinoglu.

He noted that though the voting was expected in February, it was then appointed to 23 January.

The political scientist said the steps Turkey will take in case the law is approved are obvious.

"As for Azerbaijan, I think we need to demand the removal of France for the Minsk Group since recognition of the invented 'genocide' means justification of the actions of the aggressor state. A country which holds such a stance cannot be a mediator".
