“Relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey show persistence of national spiritual and cultural unity of Turkic world.

There is great potential to expand political, economic and humanitarian cooperation between the sides,” said head of Azerbaijan-Turkey working group on interparliamentary relations Nizami Jafarov in the meeting with the members of Turkish parliament`s Turkey-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group.

Jafarov pointed out importance of regular meetings between the parliamentarians of the two countries and expressed assurance that this visit also would be `useful` for the sides. Head of Turkey-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group Necdet Unuvar stressed that they held `important meetings and efficient discussions` during the visit. The Turkish official highly praised steps undertaken by Azerbaijan against submission of the bill on criminalizing denial of the so-called Armenian genocide for consideration in the French Senate.
