Statement On Khojaly Genocide Spread In PACE

A written statement with sharp condemnation of the Khojaly genocide has been spread at the PACE winter session.

The document was prepared by member of the Azerbaijani delegation in PACE Ganira Pashayeva.

The statement was signed by deputies of different countries represented in PACE. The document was adopted in written and presented to deputies at the session of the assembly.

Khojaly genocide is one of the most terrible pages both in history of Azerbaijan and the entire humanity.

On 26 February 1992 Armenian armed formations committed the act of genocide against 7000 residents of Khojaly.

613 people were killed and 1000 civilians became disabled as a result of the bloody atrocities. 106 women, 63 children, 70 elderly people were killed. Eight families were fully terminated, 25 children lost both parents, 130 children lost one. 1275 residents of Khojaly were taken hostages on the night of the tragedy. 150 are still missing.
