"Representatives of the large Azerbaijani community protested against the bill. This bill caused a big protest also among NGOs operating in Azerbaijan", the Center said.

The Cooperation Center of Azerbaijanis and Other Turkish Nations and the Forum of National Non-governmental Organizations held a joint round table on "Protest of NGOs against the bill adopted by the French Parliament on the criminalization of the denial of 'Armenian genocide'," the Center told Gun.Az.

"Representatives of the large Azerbaijani community protested against the bill. This bill caused a big protest also among NGOs operating in Azerbaijan", the Center said.

The meeting noted importance of unified position of the Turkish world against the policy of France and said that such law is a black spot for the country which is considered a cradle of human rights.

"We thank senators voting against this bill and address and demand the French president and French Constitutional Court to prevent the bill from coming to force, which is anti-democratic and against human rights and international norms," the statement of the protest noted.
