Turkish initiative on creation of the Caucasus Security and Cooperation Platform will fail because of the Armenian position", said head of the center of political innovations and technologies Mubariz Ahmedoghlu at a press conference on political results of September.

He said that Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan was right to travel to Moscow, Tbilisi and Baku and not to visit Armenia or Iran.

"In the result Iran was obliged to seek participation in this initiative itself. If Abdullah Gul had not visited Yerevan, Armenia would have fully agreed on the initiative, while now it says that South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Nagorno Karabakh should also join the initiative. It means that Armenia will fail the Turkish initiative", said Ahmedoghlu.

According to him, EU welcomes such a position of Ankara, while the United States supports the initiative but says that there is still no definite document on the issue. "On the whole, as EU commissioner Renn said, the events in Georgia revealed Turkey's importance in the Caucasus", said he.
