French Foreign Minister refrained from commenting on disagreement between him and President Nicolas Sarkozy concerning the Armenian 'genocide' bill.
Alain Juppe quoted French politician, former minister Jean-Pierre Chevenement who said the minister must keep silence or hand in resignation.
“I have appeared in a situation when I should keep silence on the issue you mentioned,” he said.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy said on Wednesday if the genocide bill is canceled by the Constitutional Council he would present a new bill. He criticized the agriculture and foreign affairs ministers.
“There are no disagreements in the government, as in any case there is a President who rules and Prime Minister who makes decisions,” Juppe said.
French Foreign Minister, who is for strengthening of relations with Turkey, also recalled about close ties with France.
