On 5 February, a group of French senators who appealed to the French Constitution to abolish the bill criminalizing the denial of genocides will pay a visit to Baku at the invitation of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with Diaspora.

The French delegation includes Natalie Goulet, Silvi Go-Shaven, Juan Mari Bokel, Evre More, Andre Rexar and Jani Lorju, according to the Committee, Gun.Az reported.

During the visit, the French senators are to hold several meetings with the Parliament and ministries. They are also to meet Azerbaijani refugees and persons displaced as a result of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and familiarize with their life conditions.

The visit will end on 10 February.

Note that, on 31 January, the senators managed to gather signatures above the limit and appealed to the Constitutional Court to abolish the bill adopted by the French Senate, which criminalized the denial of genocides including so-called “Armenian genocide”.
