Israeli Foreign Minister Against Recognition Of Armenian Allegations

E-mail Print PDF

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman opposed the recognition of made-up Armenian genocide, Lieberman told one of the channels, “Izrus” website reported.

“Israel has been against the application of Holocaust term in relation to another war and tragedy since its establishment. We consider that the tragedy of the Jewish people in the World War II can not be compared with the tragedy of the others. Attempts to turn conflicts and massacres in Africa, Asia and Balkans into another Holocaust are unacceptable. We support the showing of all sad pages, all facts of history as that which they are. No country other than France recognized Armenian genocide by law. We are not going to intervene it. Today the historical incidents turned into the political dispute. That’s why I consider that Israel mustn’t face this problem”.

Knesset’s education and culture commission discussed “Armenian genocide” in December last year. Representative of Israeli Foreign Ministry opposed the recognition of “Armenian genocide”.
