Armenian and Turkish movie directors gathered in Ankara to prepare a documentary about the Aras river, which will include messages of neighbourhood.
First step is made about the agreement that Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and Foreign Minister Ali Babacan agreed about the cooperation between two countries in cultural activities, during the Yerevan visit of President Abdullah Gul on 6 September. Project of filming a documentary is prepared with the cooperation of Business Development Counsils of Turkey and Armenia, and Armenian marketing organization.
Thus, for studies about the project Turkish and Armenian scenarists gathered in Ankara on 9-10 October for filming a documentary about Aras river which includes messages of neighbourhood. President of Armenian Marketing Organization, Aram Navasardyan, Armenian director Gevorg Nazaryan, cameraman Vardan Baghdasaryan, Turkish director Eray Mert and his team gathered this first meeting.
Documentary will point the prejudice of peoples of two countries and will show that how similar two societies were. The documentary which will be about similar cultural features of Turkish and Armenians, will start with the freezing period of Aras river in winter and will finish in moths of spring with the melting of ice. With this scenario, documentart will give the message that frozen relations between two countries should be revitalized. It is learned that representatives of U.S. in both countries supported the project.
