FOREIGN MINISTRY WILL ASK ARMENIA TO STOP QUARRY DURING RESTORATIONS OF ANI RUINS

General directorate of cultural and natural heritage assembly of Erzurum, informed Foreign Ministry with a report about the damage in Ani ruins because of the operations in the quarry which settles close to Turkish border, in Armenia.

Pointing that dynamite explosions in the quarry, which is settled close to Turkish border, is going on to create danger for Ani ruins, Director of General Directorate of Cultural and Natural Heritage Assembly, Ulvi Ozel said that there were big cracks especially in Mother Mary Cathedral. Ani ruins, which has 5 thousand years of history, will be restorated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Foreign Affairs Ministry will request Armenia to stop the operations in the quarry for making restoration. Being affected the most, Mother Mary Cathedral is settled in the city center of city Ani.
