Despite the pressure from Ankara European Parliament held a conference about so called massacres of Armenians in Tunceli in 1937-1938. This conference was organized on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of so called killings of Armenians on the initiative of Gesellschaft fur Wiederaufbau (union for renaissance) and of the MEP Feleknas Uca (Confederal Group of the European United Left, Germany) under the support of her political party.
Making a speech in the conference, Hilda Tchoboian, the president of the European Armenian Federation claimed that Turkey was keeping with same policy since the times of so called Armenian genocide. More than that Tchoboian claimed that Turkey was hiding so called mass killings from its own population.
Such activities that European Parliament holds are thought as a signal of European Parliaments will about dismembering Turkey.
