Peace and Sport foundation which is centered in Monaco, anounced that Turkey deserved the Image of Peace and Sport Great Award.
According to declaration of Football Federation, Turkey was choosed for the award because of the match that is played in Yerevan between Turkish and Armenian national teams which formed an occasion for start of a diplomatic relationship in level of Presidents between Turkey and Armenia.
It is announced that the award will be given by the Prince of Monaco Albert II. in meeting of Forun International Peace and Sport 2008 on 3-5 December.
President of Turkish Football Federation Murat Ozgener will accept the award in behalf of President Abdullah Gul on 4 December. Turkish Football Federation National Teams Representative Levent Kizil will also attend the ceremony.
