For the first time French government clearly opposed to the bill penalizing denial of so called Armenian genocide to be brought to the agenda of the French Senate. Replying the question of Socialist Party Deputy Rene Rouqet
French Minister said that history should be left to the historians to decide about and called for attention to the possible react of Turkey in case of passing such bill from the Senate. Temporary research commission of the Parliament opposed the Parliament to make laws about historical events and underscored that Parliament could only recognize draft resolution, in its report two weeks before.
