Founded to memorize the terrible events those happened in 1915 in Van, the continue of the association for introducing Van, Association of Victims of Armenian Gangs in Times of First World War in Van will change its name into Turkish-Armenian relations Research Association.
Started with the occasion of Turkey Armenia national match by President Abdullah Gul and Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan, the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey found support in Van. Association of Victims of Armenian Gangs in Times of First World War in Van decided to change its name into Turkish-Armenian relations Research Association.
President of association Ikram Kali said in his written statement that the association will go on to remind people how the people of Van suffered economically, socially, culturally. Kali said that they will go on to remind people the slaughter of people of Van and the loses of Van people in those times. Kali said; It is not possible for us to forget the deep pain, and turn our back to history. No way for us to recognize absurd and ideological ideas. In this process Armenians should leave looking to issue ideologically and should show good will and sincerity and face their history. Thus we can understand each other better and we can form a common language and climate to resolve problems between us.
