According to the report that is sent to Turkish Grand National Assembly by Foreign Ministry, there are 60,000 Armenian, 25,000 Jewish, 3-4 thousand Greek descent citizen and 270 place of worship belonging to these minorities, in Turkey.
Foreign Ministry prepared a report about the population of minorities in Turkey. In the report that is sent to Turkish Grand National Assembly says there are more than 270 place for worship in Turkey belonging to minorities where 108 of them belonging to Orthodox Greeks.
Armenians:
Population of Armenian descent Turkish citizens is approximately 60,000. Where 45,000 of them lives in Istanbul. Armenian Turkish community have an Armenian Patriarchate in Istanbul and 55 Armenian church. There are one kindergarden, 17 primary school and 5 high school belonging to Armenians in which 2,906 students being educated with Armenian language. There are 52 Armenian foundation, 5 Armenian newspaper, 1 Armenian magazine and two Armenian hospitals in Turkey.
Jews:
Population of Jewish descent Turkish people in Turkey is about 25,000 where 22,000 of them lives in Istanbul. Jewish community in Turkey have 36 synagogue, one kindergarden, one primary school and a high school.
Greeks:
Population of Greek descent Turkish citizens is about 3-4 thousand and most of them lives in Istanbul. They have 15 primary shcool and 6 high school in Istanbul. Greek minority of Turkey have 108 temple where 90 of them are open for worship.There are 60,000 Greek descent Turkish people who lives in Greece, and there is no obstacle for them to return Turkey.
