Armenian Historian Shirinian claimed that Armenia's most trustable friend was Iran.

In a press conference that is held in Yerevan, commenting over Turkish Armenian relations Chief of Armenian Pedagogy Public University, History of Political Rights Department Leonid Shirinian said that there were nothing new in Turkish Armenian relations to get deeply excited about.

Shirinian said, "The foreing policy of Armenia should be revised. 20th century showed Armenians that the most loyal friend of Armenia is Iran. Because of that; foreign policy of Armenia should be reshaped due to this fact." Shirinian says that the main reason for a need of such change is the boost in relations between Turkey and Russia.

Shirinian said, "History proves that the reapproachment between Turkey and Russia always prudeces bitter results for Armenia. Today, the main strategical partner of Armenia, Russia activates its relations with Turkey. This issue should be in the first order of our agenda or it may bring tragical results for Armenia".

Another speechmaker in the conference Armenian Political Scientist Alexander Manasian said that the reconciliation between Turkey and Armenia in 2008 was one of the most interesting events in the year. Manasian said that there were many positive and negative critics about the issue.
